When I first heard of this variety I knew I had to try it out, but it was very hard to find online sources for some seeds to try it out, my goal is to change that!

I found two different Amish Communities that sold transplants of this variety that were over a hundred miles apart, one in Bloomington, Indiana and the other in Caneyville, Kentucky.

When I first tried the fruit I noticed that it did not have a very strong acidity to it and had a milder flavor than other beefsteak red types. This might be a good red tomato for those who love tomatoes, but can’t handle a lot of acidity. It is definitely a good one for sandwiches or juicing and making sauces, because if you take care of them they can get really large and can attain up to a pound and a half or more depending on their growing conditions. I recommend giving them a heavy mulch to keep even moisture around the roots and grow in a well drained soil.
